01 — The brief

The brief

The Klitschko Cup is a major European minifootball preparation tournament, organised by the Minifootball Federation of Ukraine and held under the EMF Nations Games umbrella. In May 2019, six national teams — Ukraine, Switzerland, Ireland, Croatia, Romania, and England — came to Kyiv for two days of 6-a-side competition across 12 group-stage matches.

The federation needed a full live broadcast operation: TV-standard coverage of every match, a complete TV graphics package, on-air sponsorship integration, and simultaneous distribution to each participating nation's own YouTube channel as well as to the two main Ukrainian sports networks, Sport 1 and Xsport. We were appointed official broadcaster for the full tournament.

02 — What we did

How we produced it

  1. 01

    4-camera live switching in APEX OS

    All four cameras — a centre wide, a centre close-up, a field-level close-up, and a wireless roaming Sony camera used for intros, beauty shots, and sideline coverage — were switched live in APEX OS throughout both days. Instant slow-motion replays were triggered from the same system, with no additional replay operator or desk required.

    Full TV graphics package

    A complete broadcast graphics package ran across all 12 matches: team names, scores, timers, and on-air sponsorship assets — the same standard you'd expect on a national sports channel.

    Multi-platform distribution via RestreamME

    The encoded output went into RestreamME, which split the single production feed live to six national YouTube channels — one per participating country — and simultaneously to Sport 1 and Xsport on linear TV. One feed, eight destinations, no manual duplication.

  4. 04

    Per-match highlight packages

    After the live output, every match was cut as a standalone highlight package. The federation received a full archive of 12 per-game edits as separate deliverables alongside the broadcast itself.

04 — The outcome

What it delivered

The two-day broadcast reached thousands of viewers across six countries — a meaningful audience for a sport that was only beginning to build its international following at the time. Fans in Ukraine, Switzerland, Ireland, Croatia, Romania, and England could watch their national teams live, on their own national channel, without needing to find a foreign stream.

The broadcast generated income through on-air sponsorship, giving the federation a commercial return on the production. And with 12 standalone highlight packages delivered after the final whistle, the federation left with a complete per-game content archive — not just a broadcast, but a full library of the tournament.
